Chat Conduct
Chat is shared ground the same as the map is. Keep it somewhere everyone can stand.
Be respectful
Disrespect, discrimination, and harassment of any kind aren't tolerated, in-game or in Discord. Vulgar language isn't allowed either, including ways of bypassing the filter through named items or lookalike spelling.
Protect everyone's privacy
Never share or disclose another player's private information. Real-life addresses, phone numbers, or anything else that could identify or locate someone stays off the server entirely.
Don't spam or flood chat
Keep global chat readable. Repeated messages, flooding, and obvious alt-account spam aren't allowed.
No advertising other servers
Don't advertise or discuss other Minecraft servers in public or local chat. Take that conversation to Discord DMs instead.
Keep global chat in English
English keeps global and general chat readable for the whole server. Other languages are welcome in private messages or local chat.
Trading & Economy
Trades, loans, and deals run entirely on the same trust the whitelist is built from.
No real-money trading
Buying or selling in-game currency, items, or accounts for real-world money, gift cards, or other outside value isn't allowed. All trading stays inside the server's own economy.
Scamming is illegal here
Deceiving another player during a trade or deal to unfairly take their items or money is a bannable offense. Delivering less than what was agreed, faking an item's enchantments or quantity, and taking payment then vanishing all count.
Exploits & Bugs
Whitelisting is the server's whole defense against cheating, so it only works if everyone inside it plays it straight.
No hacked clients
Any client considered "hacked," or anything that gives an unfair advantage, isn't allowed. This doesn't include performance clients like Badlion or PvP clients like Lunar. It does include game-altering mods such as Schematica and any autoclicker.
No x-ray or unfair resource packs
X-ray texture packs, resource packs, or any tool that reveals ores, players, or hidden structures through blocks aren't allowed.
No lag machines
Don't build machines or structures meant to cause server lag or instability, individually or at scale. These hurt everyone's experience and can crash the server outright.
No item duplication
Duplicating items through glitches, exploits, or any other method is strictly against the rules. Found a duplication bug? Report it. Coming forward is always the better move.
Report bugs, don't abuse them
Found a bug or unintended mechanic? Report it to staff instead of using it to your advantage. Knowingly exploiting a bug is treated the same as using a hack, even if you didn't discover it yourself.
No combat logging
Disconnecting to avoid death or item loss mid-fight isn't allowed. Disconnect during combat and the fight's outcome may be enforced as if you'd stayed.
No ban evasion
Using an alt account to get around a punishment on your main account isn't allowed.
Building Without Claims
This server runs no land-claim plugin. Nothing stops another player from walking up to your build, so nothing but the whitelist itself is protecting it. That's deliberate: the Hideout only accepts souls it trusts to respect a build without needing a barrier around it.
Ask first, always
Adding to, altering, or taking from a build that isn't yours needs a yes from whoever built it first. A visible base, farm, or storage system belongs to its builder, claim plugin or not.
No griefing
Breaking, burning, or flooding someone's build without their permission is a whitelist-ending offense, first time it happens.
No boxing in
Fully or almost fully walling off another player's build or trapping them inside their own base isn't allowed, whether it's framed as a joke or a threat.
Ask before major terraforming near a build
Reshaping the landscape right around someone else's base needs their okay first. Terraforming out in open, unclaimed land is fine as long as it isn't lagging the server.
Public infrastructure belongs to everyone
Rail lines, public farms and trade halls keep the Hideout functioning as one world instead of a hundred separate ones. Never grief them, this is the one rule with zero warnings before a ban. Take what you need from public farms, not what's there, and report breakage instead of quietly routing around it.
Travel & Conflict
The map became one world because every barrier between worlds came down. Crossing it, and fighting on it, stay grounded in that.
Getting around means actually going there
No warps, no /tpa, no command teleporting of any kind (except for /spawn). Rails, boats, horses, and nether portals are the intended ways to close distance, and the server invests in shared versions of all four. Death doesn't grant a shortcut back either; recovering your items means the same journey in reverse. Ender pearl stacking into unreachable terrain and similar workarounds are treated the same as an outright teleport command.
PvP has a place
Spawn will always be neutral, no combat and no traps. Consent PvP is fine anywhere else: both sides opted in, or it doesn't happen.
No raids
Raiding or destroying another player's base as part of a conflict isn't allowed, whitelisted or not, consenting or not. Fight each other, not each other's homes, and don't burn down what someone built just because you lost to them.
Server & Community Conduct
The rest of what keeps this a place worth being whitelisted for.
Respect staff
Don't impersonate a staff member or claim authority you don't have. Treat staff decisions with respect. If you disagree with a ruling, raise it through a ticket rather than arguing it out in public chat.
Appropriate builds and names
Builds, skins, and usernames that are sexually explicit, contain hate symbols, or are otherwise offensive aren't allowed.
No threats or encouragement of self-harm
Threats of real-world violence, and any content that encourages or promotes self-harm, are never allowed and are always treated as a serious violation.
A FEW FINAL NOTES
This rulebook can't cover every possible situation. Staff may act on behavior that clearly harms the server or other players' experience, even when it isn't explicitly listed above.
Not knowing a rule existed isn't a valid excuse for breaking it, so if you're ever in doubt, ask a staff member first. Any issue deemed a punishable offense is still subject to punishment, listed here or not.
